Para evitar manifestaciones del pueblo exigiendo su libertad, Alcalde de Espinar, Oscar Mollohuanca Cruz, fue trasladado del Cusco a la ciudad de Ica, donde será procesado por el Poder Judicial de dicha ciudad. El “delito” es haber participado junto a su pueblo en la lucha contra la mina Xstrata Tintaya por contaminar el medio ambiente y las aguas de dos ríos de la zona.
